The Arty Party Top Five List

We're STILL recovering from Saturday night's bash!
By SPLASH
October 19, 2009
While there were dozens and dozens of cool things to see and do and drink and eat at the Arty Party, SPLASH! has narrowed our list down to our top five.

5. THE RED CARPET PAPARAZZI PHOTO WALL: As the night wore on, the pictures began to reflect a little more indiscretion. Oh, there was much more indiscretion, but we can't post THOSE pictures on our site. You know who you are though! (RED CARPET GALLERY LINKS: http://bit.ly/3jinkQ and http://bit.ly/4z0h94)

4. DELECTABLE DESSERTS: We didn't get a chance to sample every decadent offering, but what we did have (between drinks), was awesome!

3. SPLASH!'s OWN BLUE COCKTAIL: Potent and tasty ... does it get any better than that! Served in the SPLASH! VIP Lounge, the cocktail was 2oz. of vodka, 1 oz. of Curacao and 4 oz. of pineapple juice. And if that wasn't enough, the hottie working the VIP bar (Emily Carkhuff) was spectacular.

2. CHORDS & OIL ART CUBE: A living, breathing work in progress that evolved as the night progressed. As many as a half dozen local artists at any given time could be seen working nonstop on the 8-foot-tall cube as the party roared on all around them.

1. STACY MITCHHART: The Grammy-nominated bluesman and his band dropped in unannounced (thanks to Uncle Bo's) and turned the Arty Party upside down. With no sound check, the band plugged in and immediately launched into a blistering set that culminated with Mitchhart going out into the crowd, guitar in tow, to lay down some nasty blues licks. The overwhelmed crowd was quite obviously blown away and the Arty Party rocked into the evening.
